In order to create an even safer space for its members, SCRUFF has enabled a new function in the app: “Profile Verified”. The tool guarantees platform users that the person with whom the message is exchanged is really the one who appears on the profile.
Community is what sets SCRUFF apart, which cultivates a fun and inclusive space where all its members around the world can freely and authentically be themselves. The dating app is the only one owned and operated by LGBTQ+ people who also use the app and are committed to maintaining a friendly and safe space for everyone.
Available in beta version, the verification tool, which now arrives in Brazil, is very simple. To start the process, the user must be logged in, click on the “verification” icon next to the profile name and then on “Verify”. SCRUFF will show two poses, which the user must imitate in photos taken by the cell phone and send them. A message will then notify you that the profile is under review – once it is approved, the verified icon will appear next to the profile name.
Through this tool, the application ensures that there are no violations, such as creating fake profiles, for example. Another novelty is the creation of a video call function through the application, which allows WOOfers (as SCRUFF users are called) to communicate in real time, through the camera of their cell phones, bringing them together digitally before a meeting safe way outside the app.
Was founded in 2010 by Johnny Skandros and Eric Silverberg, SCRUFF follows strict guidelines and expects all its users to respect each other’s different backgrounds, lived experiences, opinions and beliefs, through a zero-tolerance policy towards content that promotes violence, hatred or discrimination based on factors such as race, ethnicity, disability, age, gender identity, HIV status, national origin or religion.
SCRUFF is available for free on iOS and Android devices and in version and is a dating app that caters to gay, trans and queer audiences looking for loving and affective relationships. The only app founded and managed by LGBTQ+ people, the app connects over 15 million members worldwide, in 180 countries and 6 continents and can be accessed in 9 languages: English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese,
