As we mentioned in the news, President Donald Trump signed an executive order forbidding the government from recognizing any gender other than “male” and “female.” One little problem: the executive order defines which gender an individual is according to the size of the reproductive cells which a body might produce “at conception.” Science says that, at conception, all embryos are female; males differentiate later. While several storis pointed out this error, there has been no attempt made to fix the error. For rushing to solve a problem that isn’t what you think it is, and for not listening to science when it tells you what the problem is, President Donald Trump and his advisors get a TWIT. The Advocate has this story.

As we also mentioned, several web pages were removed from the official White House web site, including web pages which point to LGBTQ+ resources, along with pages that honor the memories of Nex Benedict and Matthew Shepard. For thinking that removing the information makes one strong, President Trump and his advisors get another TWIT. This story comes from Them.

Bishop Mariann Budde gave the sermon at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday, the first full day of President Donald Trump’s second term in office. In the sermon, she urged mercy towards marginalized communities, including immigrants and LGBTQ+ people. President Trump claimed he was due an apology, despite the fact that he himself offered no apology for his own policies which show so little mercy. Several of President Trump’s supporters responded by calling Bishop Budde to say that they wished she were dead, as though the death of the messenger would negate the message. Senator Tommy Tuberville responded to the sermon by saying that he wants transgender children to “live in fear” of their parents, while he shows no fear of following a president who does not follow the teachings of Jesus. For getting upset with a bishop pointing out how far the president’s actions are from the teachings of Jesus Christ, while not being upset with the president for failing to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, Senator Tommy Tuberville and others who complain about the sermon get a TWIT. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

In the last three years, Montana state Representative John Fuller has introduced five bills to prevent transgender youths in the state from receiving gender-affirming medical care. One such bill passed and was signed by the governor, but ran into trouble with the state Supreme Court. Three of his bills failed to get out of committee. Now, his latest bill charges parents with child abuse if they seek to get gender-affirming medical care for their child. For hyperbole, for rejecting science and the findings of good research, and for wanting to use the heavy hand of the state to punish parents for exercising their authority to be in charge of their child, Montana state Representative John Fuller gets a TWIT. This story comes from Erin Reed.

Representatives Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace took it into their own hands to enforce the ban on transgender women in the rest rooms on Capitol Hill. They did this despite the fact that the ban actually puts the Sergeant-At-Arms in charge of enforcement. Oh, and there was one other problem with what they did–the person whom they thought was a transgender woman was actually a cisgender woman. For overstepping their authority, and for going after someone who was within her rights to be there, Representatives Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace get a TWIT. The Daily Beast has this story.
