Jordan Doww stars in the lead role in a gay horror film

On Tuesday (06), the horror film “Ganymede” premiered on digital platforms, marking actor Jordan Doww‘s first lead role in a feature film. Known for his work in short films and web series, Doww now takes center stage in this horror production.

The plot

The plot of the film, described as an “over-the-top Southern Gothic” horror, follows high school wrestling star Lee Fletcher, played by Doww, who begins to develop feelings for his openly gay classmate, Kyle, portrayed by Pablo Castelblanco.

Lee Fletcher faces repression at home due to the strict Baptist environment created by his father, Big Lee, played by Joe Chrest. To try to “correct” his son, Big Lee brings in Pastor Royer, portrayed by David Koechner, to scare Lee. However, a demon begins to haunt the young man, threatening his life.

“Ganymede” is directed by the filmmaking duo Colby Holt and Sam Probst, who are real-life partners. The film blends elements of horror, family drama, and dark humor. In addition to starring in frightening scenes, Doww also explores the romance and internal conflicts of his character.

Who is Jordan Doww

Jordan Doww’s career has been diverse, with appearances in films like Love, Simon and Reach, as well as work in web series such as Mr. Student Body President. Doww has also ventured into music, releasing singles like “Landslide” and “Had Enough“.

Doww publicly came out in 2015 with a YouTube video that went viral. In interviews, the actor has discussed the challenges and changes in the film industry regarding sexuality and LGBTQIA+ roles.
