We mentioned in the news how Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has made a huge ad buy, playing over and over a commercial which attacks Kamala Harris for supporting a policy of gender-affirming medical care for prisoners. First off, as Vice President, Kamala Harris is not directly responsible for policies taken by the Biden administration. Secondly, and more importantly, the gender-affirming care was offered by the Trump administration, since it was the result of court decisions. For withholding information so vital that withholding it constitutes hypocrisy, the campaign of Former President Donald Trump gets a TWIT. The Advocate has this story.
Former President Donald Trump was asked at a barber shop what he would do about education, he gave a long, rambling answer, which started with a reiteration of his statements tying schools to gender-affirming surgery. And, other than saying that he would “not let it happen,” and restating his promise to “abolish” the Department of Education, with the exception of “one person and a secretary just to make sure they’re teaching English,” he never answered the question. For blaming transgender students for so much that is not their fault, and for the simple-mindedness to think that “one person and a secretary” is sufficient to see to it that schools teach English, Former President Donald Trump gets a TWIT, which he satires with his naive followers. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.
Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines, who famously complains about having to share a fifth-place finish in a middle-distance swimming event to a transgender swimmer, spoke at a rally for Former President Donald Trump. She spoke about seeing the naked body of Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer, at that event, as though it should be illegal for her to see a transgender person in the locker room. Here’s an idea: if you don’t want to see a transgender woman naked, don’t look at the other women in the locker room. For unnecessarily graphic descriptions of something she should not be looking at, and for blaming others for where she herself chose to look, Riley Gaines gets a TWIT. Fox News has this story.
A group called Partners for Ethical Care, a group which supports conversion therapy for transgender youths despite the lack of evidence that it changes people’s gender identity and abundant evidence that it makes transgender people just feel bad about themselves, has filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court cast against Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors. Erin Reed reports that the founder lost custody of her own transgender child because of her extreme beliefs, and a lack of medical evidence to back up the things she advocates. For advocating policies based on personal bias, and for not listening to medical studies which reject their beliefs, Partners for Ethical Care get a TWIT.
