Meta is being criticized because a new study by Media Matters For America shows that Gays Against Groomers has been conducting an ongoing anti-transgender campaign on the social media platforms, and has yet to be punished for it For failing to take action against hate speech, harassment, and misinformation, Meta gets a Twit Award.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission of the U.K. has released a new guidance for how to treat transgender students at school. The new guidance said that referring to a student by a deadname or former pronouns is not discriminatory. Indeed, the update removes the entire section on deadnames, pronouns, and misgendering. For failing to treat transgender students as worthy of “equality,” while promoting bigotry, the EHRC gets a Twit Award. PinkNews has this story.

Michael David Fox, a QAnon fan from New Mexico, threatened to kill a congresswoman from Houston, whom he called a pedophile and a transgender person. Mind you, there is no transgender person in Congress, but this person insisted that a member of Congress, whose life can be documented from grade school with testimony from classmates (who do not remember this woman as a boy, but as a girl), is transgender. For believing the unbelievable, and for threatening to kill over the misinformation, Michael David Fox gets a Twit Award. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.

Shawn Skelly

We are generally trying to ignore Lauren Boebert, who does not need our help in looking like a fool. Representative Boebert introduced an amendment to reduce the salary of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness Shawn Skelly to one dollar. Ms. Skelly is the highest-ranking transgender official in the Department of Defense. Representative Boebert referred to Ms. Skelly as, “This delusional man, thinking he is a woman, embodies and espouses the wokeism that’s causing significant harm to our military readiness and troop morale.” In point of fact, troop morale has not been harmed by accepting transgender people in the ranks, but you just can’t get some conservatives to give up what they think is true. For deliberate misgendering, and for wild and inaccurate accusations, Representative Boebert gets a Twit Award. The Advocate has this story.

Michael Knowles, a podcaster for the Daily Wire, who has received a Twit Award for untruthful and biased rhetoric, suggested recently that the top issue on the minds of voters is transgender children. While one could indeed get that impression for listening to conservative podcasts and reading conservative websites, in fact, poll after poll shows that, while people do have some concerns about the topic, and generally are concerned about the increase in the number of children being treated for gender dysphoria, they feel that lawmakers should focusing too much on the topic of transgender children, and want them to move on to other, more important topics. For misstating the will of the voters, Michael Knowles and others who focus on the issue of transgender children get a Twit Award. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.

This week saw the second debate between the Republican presidential candidates, and again, the frontrunner (by a significant margin) was not present at the debate. During the segment of the debate which was supposed to discuss education, the topic of gender dysphoria in youth came up. The term “gender ideology” came up, as did a proposal for a national ban on gender-affirming care for minors. For rushing to change the topic from education to healthcare, and for thinking that a bunch of lawyers know more about healthcare than do doctors in groups, the Republican presidential candidates get a collective Twit Award.
