A federal judge has temporarily blocked the implementation of President Trump’s executive order requiring that federal prisoners be housed according to their sex at birth. Three other prisoners have filed similar law suits. Reuters has this story.
On Tuesday. President Trump signed an executive order banning doctors from giving gender-affirming medical treatment to “children” under the age of nineteen. This goes against the principle of parental rights, and also violates the principle of limited government. If upheld, this will prevent those under the age of 19 from getting hormone replacement therapy or puberty blockers. This story comes from the NBC News.
The Associated Press reports that some hospitals have already halted their gender-affirming care programs for minors.

On Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order banning the teaching of “gender ideology” in schools. Entitled “Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling,” the executive order also defunds schools which allow students to use a name other than their legal name or a pronoun which does not reflect the sex assigned at birth. Wednesday’s executive order also limits the use of restrooms, changing rooms, and the such according to sex assigned at birth. The executive order on education also forbids social transitioning in schools. The Advocate has this story.
Some school systems say that they will not follow President Trump’s executive order on education, Erin Reed reports.
On Monday, President Trump signed an executive order banning transgender people from serving openly in the military. This returns the military to a policy which President Trump had during his first term in office. By Thursday, Military Times reported that the Navy had stopped accepting transgender applicants.
By Wednesday, six transgender members of the armed services had filed a class action suit to prevent the implementation of the executive order which President Trump signed Monday night.
Erin Reed notes that the justification section of President Trump’s ban on transgender people serving openly in the military does away with the pretense that there debates about the scientific value of gender-affirming care, and the pretense of harmful side effects. Instead, it claims, “adoption of a gender identity inconsistent with an individual’s sex conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life.” In other words, transgender people are inherently dishonest and immoral.
On Wednesday, the Office of Personnel Management sent a memo, telling federal agencies to implement a bathroom ban and ordering them to end all programs, grants, contracts, and media which “promote or inculcate gender ideology.” The Independent has this story.
The Office of Personnel Management is preparing to remove documents from the web pages of Centers for Disease Control to remove certain words and phrases, including the term, “transgender.” Gizmodo has this story of censorship.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will no longer help transgender and non-binary people, according to its new acting chair. This is in keeping with President Trump’s executive order which says that the government will only recognize two genders, and they are the same as the sex assigned at birth.
