Last Saturday (28), the São Paulo Police confirmed the identification of the body of the 37-year-old model and actor Ricardo César Merini, who had been missing since October 21st. Merini was last seen in the Bela Vista neighborhood, downtown São Paulo, Brazil after returning from a trip to Chapecó, Santa Catarina, Brazil According to the information, he left home with the intention of meeting a friend.
The confirmation came after the identification of fingerprints by the Ricardo Gumbleton Daunt Identification Institute (IIRGD). According to the Police Report and investigation by G1, the body was found near Terminal Bandeira in the city center on the 22nd, showing “signs of suicide”, and the cause of death was reported as cranial trauma by the medical examiner.

The family, which complained about the delay between the discovery of the body and the identification, was called in to perform the recognition. The case sparked a mobilization on social media throughout the week, searching for information that could lead to Merini’s whereabouts.
Security cameras recorded Ricardo’s last moments, showing the model entering and leaving his apartment on the day of his disappearance. A close friend, Fernanda, shared that Ricardo was walking to meet a friend, and despite exchanging messages, the model never reached the agreed destination.

Merini’s phone was later found in a community, as reported by Fernanda. The model’s family, who are from Santa Catarina, were in the capital city of São Paulo to follow the investigations and search efforts.
