On last Saturday (20th), in a video posted on his YouTube channel, biomedical expert Dr. Vitor Mello discussed various factors that can contribute to a reduction in penis size, highlighting both physical and psychological aspects that affect male health. The specialist also emphasized the importance of understanding these causes to better address concerns about the topic.
Obesity
Dr. Mello explained that weight gain and obesity are major factors that can impact the apparent size of the penis. “The accumulation of fat around the pubic area can make the penis appear smaller than it actually is“, he says. The biomedical expert mentioned techniques such as liposuction and cryolipolysis as alternatives to reduce this fat and improve the appearance of the penis.
“After performing these procedures to reduce the fat layer, we can carry out the overpants technique, and certainly, the result will be much more satisfactory“, he stated. The specialist also emphasized that managing obesity goes beyond aesthetics, being important for overall health.
Ageing
Additionally, aging is another factor that can influence penis size. A reduction in testosterone levels, the male sex hormone, can lead to decreased size and rigidity of the penis. Dr. Mello highlighted the importance of maintaining good hormonal health to preserve sexual function.
“Regarding testosterone, it’s important to address two aspects. The first is [aspecto é] ‘the loss of erection quality’; often this loss is not a reduction in penis size itself. In fact, we can say that the penis appears less filled because the patient may have less desire and, indeed, a lower quality erection. As the second aspect, ‘the patient has fewer erections and less sexual activity,’ leading to penis shrinkage due to disuse; the fewer sexual activities and the longer the intervals between them, the greater the chances of penis shrinkage due to disuse “.
Smoking and alcoholism
Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption were also identified as villains for vascular health, negatively impacting erectile function and, consequently, the appearance of the penis. The doctor warned that these habits can decrease erection quality and testosterone levels.
“Remembering that excessive alcohol consumption can also lower testosterone levels, affect the quality of blood vessels, and compromise erection. It’s also worth noting that, according to recent studies, there is no safe level of alcohol consumption “, the doctor stated.
Chronic medical conditions
Chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, were mentioned as factors that impair vascular health and erectile function. Dr. Mello highlighted that these issues can result in a reduction in penis size and firmness due to poor blood circulation.
To conclude, Dr. Mello emphasized that although penis size may be a concern for many men, it is crucial to focus on overall health and quality of life. He recommended maintaining healthy habits, such as regular physical exercise and attention to mental health, for a fuller and more satisfying life.
