Marina Lima is announced in the line-up of the ‘Garotas ao Mar Weekend’ festival
The “Garotas ao Mar Weekend” festival, aimed at lesbian, bisexual, trans, and other gender identities, has announced Rio de Janeiro singer Marina Lima as the main attraction of its line-up. The event will offer a three-night and four-day experience featuring various musical activities and beachside parties.
The LBTQ+ event, marking the festival’s debut in Brazil under the organization of H&H, will take place from March 28 to March 31, 2024, at the Eco Resort Vila Galé, located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Pernambuco, Brazil.
Renowned in the Brazilian music scene, Marina Lima is known for hits that have spanned generations. Iconic since the 1980s and 1990s, she has built a solid career over more than four decades with songs that blend pop-rock and MPB, such as “Fullgás”, “À francesa”, and “Uma noite e meia”.
In addition to Marina Lima, other confirmed attractions include Bruna Pazinato (country music), the carnival block “Gatas Extraordinárias” and a samba session with the SaiaBamba group. At the DJ booth, the lineup includes DJs Ary (PE), Babi Deejay (“Chá da Alice”/RJ), Lela Gomes (“Lambe Lambe”/RJ), Quimey Toro (“Fiesta Rose”/Argentina), Rapha Navarro (PE), and Van Muller (SP). The organization assures that more updates and many other names will be announced by the end of 2023.
The festival is conceived by H&H Festival, which has a 16-year history of promoting experiences for the LGBTQIA+ audience.
The first edition of the festival aimed at LBTQ+ women aims to provide a unique experience in a paradisiacal setting, with extensive programming throughout all days. According to Joana Mendes and Amanda Döring, co-directors of the event, “Garotas ao Mar Weekend” is not just a festival but an opportunity for women who love women to enjoy moments of fun and freedom.
“It’s a unique event in a format never seen before, where women who love women will have fun safely and freely in a paradise-like location with a program entirely designed for us”, added the directors.
