The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating an accusation that members of the “Harris-Biden Administration” pressured members of WPATH to remove age recommendations for surgery from its endorsement of gender-affirming medical care. First off, anyone who knows WPATH will know that they feel that surgery is the best way to deal with gender dysphoria At most, the “members of the Harris-Biden administration” (i.e., Admiral Rachel Levine) gave the group permission to make the recommendation that they wanted t make. Moreover, is this sort of thing really the best use of the time of the U.S. House of Representatives? For wasting its time on such a trifling investigation, and for not even bothering with the reasons behind the recommendation, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability gets a TWIT. This story comes from the New York Post.
An investigation by The 19th has uncovered what we all at least suspected–Republicans have been sneaking anti-transgender measures into legislation which has nothing to do with transgender people. For sneaking in provisions which have nothing to do with the original intent of the legislation, the authors of this legislation get a TWIT.
An investigation by The 19th found that many parts of Project 2025 specifically aim to limit the rights of transgender people and our ability to live our lives. For deliberately aiming at a group whose rights are already limited, and for trying to remove even more of our rights, the authors of Project 2025, and supporters of this legislation, both get a TWIT.
